On behalf of the Church Food Pantry, I would like to extend an applause of gratitude to Red River Ford for the awesome job in collecting food this year. 33,393 pounds of food was collected from the community in support of all the local food banks. Thank you to Curtis Coker, Ed Arnold, Jean Choate, myself and all of the other food banks for sorting and collecting the food from Red River and bringing it to our facility. We want to thank Tommy Hitchcock for the donations of turkeys. Pat & Mary Miller also made a huge donation to the cause. Thank you one and all in the support of our ministry to the community.

The Love of God is so much more than we understand. I know the new and exciting things happening at our church right now come from the Love of God. He sent Curtis Coker to us with a heart of God's Love. Yet he is real and not all of the spiritual nerdy stuff. While in town today someone gave me a testimony about what Curtis said to her at church. He ministered to her and the delivery was funny. She laughed during a stressful situation. We both laughed together! All because Curtis smiled, spoke the word and was light hearted. Fun! Life! Happiness! This is our church!

I was reading this out of the Message this morning and thought it was profound in it's simplicity:
"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Jesus! He is our hope. We can trust Him. He is faithful. We learned today that hope is a CONFIDENT expectation of GOOD things to come. What a good and life changing message!

We all walk in faith everyday. The question is where is our faith placed? We can have a confident expectation of Good things to come because we TRUST in HIM, we have faith in Him, we have confidence that our God loves us lavishly and has provided EVERYTHING that pertains to life and Godliness. Or, we can have a confident expectation in negative things to come - that is fear.

Hebrews says that hope is an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presencebehind the veil. We learned today that if we let the Peace of God rule our heart, if we let His peace guard our heart, This hope will anchor our soul in His presence and keep us from suffering shipwreck in our heart.
